Emily Laux Marcheschi, PsyD

Psychologist

Dr. Marcheschi is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has clinical expertise (and passion for) treating a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges facing adolescents and young adults, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, self-harm, life transitions, and generally the stresses of being a teenager (or really anybody) in today’s world. Through her clinical experience, Dr. Marcheschi developed a strong belief in the importance of how we talk to ourselves about the world and our place in it, and her goal is to make these narratives as helpful and kind as possible. Work and life have additionally reinforced the importance of laughter, frequently including this in her sessions.

Having never outgrown her childhood love of listening to people’s stories, Dr. Marcheschi pursued a career in psychology, earning a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Denver Children’s Home, where she gained extensive experience treating a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents.

Dr. Marcheschi is proud to have been a faculty member at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where she co-headed the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs. She specialized in treating child and adolescent mood and behavioral disorders and facilitated family engagement in the therapeutic process. Dr. Marcheschi has also appeared on local media outlets as an expert in child and adolescent mental health, specifically self-harm and other safety concerns.

Dr. Marcheschi likes to get off the grid when she is not at work, exploring the wider world and all Colorado has to offer in our own backyard. She and her husband (also a child psychologist) love backpacking, yoga, road trips, and taking far too many photos of their dog. The addition of two babies has cramped her style a bit, but she is loving (almost) every moment of this new adventure!
