Dr. Walick’s Patient FAQs
Patient Responsibilities
While we intend to avoid any lapse in medication(s) for our patients, your psychiatrist will not refill a prescription(s) if you have failed to make regular follow-up appointments.
Patients prescribed medication by a physician at the Arete Center must meet with their provider every six(6) months (minimum) for ongoing medication management and/or follow the physician's recommendation.
Failure to schedule and maintain regular visits with your provider can result in the termination of care.
Refills
Refill requests should be emailed to Dr. Walick at dave@thearetecenter.com no less than three(3) business days before you run out of medication to ensure no lapse in coverage.
To facilitate the refill process, please provide the following information in your email request:
Patient Name & DOB
Medication Name & Dosage
Pharmacy Name and Location
For your safety, your psychiatrist will NOT send in medication refills over the weekend, except in emergencies.
Your provider must call in all stimulant medications each month. No refills are allowed by law, and each month’s supply must be sent in as a separate prescription.
Scheduling / Cancellations / No-shows
At the end of your session Dr. Walick will let you know when he would like to see you again. Put a reminder in your calendar for three weeks before that date to reach out and schedule your appointment.
The further in advance you schedule your appointments, the more availability your provider will have.
The Arete Center has a 24-hour cancellation policy. We enforce this policy to ensure we can offer any openings to another patient. To change or cancel an appointment within 24-hours email Dr. Walick directly at dave@thearetecenter.com. Telehealth may be available for follow-up appointments if you cannot reach the office due to inclement weather, illness, or travel. Please check with your provider.
Clients are billed the entire intake/session fee for no-shows and late cancellations.
Insurance, Payments & Superbills
As a reminder, our practitioners do not accept insurance and are not in-network with any insurance company.
Dr. Walick collects payment at the end of each appointment through Square. Please be prepared to make the payment at the end of your session.
Dr. Walick can provide you with the relevant information to request out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company after your visit. This information is called a superbill, a detailed invoice that you may be able to submit for reimbursement. To request a superbill, please email Dr. Walick at dave@thearetecenter.com and include the dates of service you would like included.
